We foster greater understanding between faith traditions and increased participation in ecumenical ventures in Ottawa.

The Christian Council of the Capital Area is a Christian cooperative body founded in 1971 to bring about greater understanding between faith traditions and more participation in ecumenical ventures in Canada's National Capital Region.

Week of Prayers for Christian Unity

The Council organizes and partners with local congregations to host the Week of Prayers for Christian Unity each year on the third Sunday of January. Using worship resources from the World Council of Churches and the Canadian Council of Churches, the local liturgy is crafted with a connection to the region designated and our local contexts.

Studying Together

The Christian Council of the Capital Area is inviting you to various study opportunities ONLINE. We have discovered the gift of gathering the faithful from a variety of contexts and even cities.

We hope you will consider joining us for one or all of the series that will be coming up this year.

2025 - The Historical Jesus (Rev. Dr. John Perkin, First Baptist)

““I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”

~ John 17 : 20-23
